Procrastination, its time to get over it.
Procrastination, I don’t think we need to go into descriptions with this one, we all know what procrastination is… it is the one thing that will stop you and your business from moving forward.
Writing content for your website may seem to be one of those jobs that you feel you can keep putting off, but at the end of the day it is one of the easiest ways to promote your business, and get you moving up the rankings of search engines such as Google.
To hep you get over the procrastination epidemic that often infects us all, it is a good idea to create your own website management process. Hang on did he just say website management process? Yes I did, but don’t get to hung up on a new process, it is purely there to help you. Your process could be as simple as setting an hour aside once a week to jot down some interesting topics that you would like to talk about. Then every other week your one hour should be dedicated to writing a new article for your website based around your notes.
Alternatively, you could add the website management process onto your daily job task. For example, if you own a cake making business, you could take a few photos of your completed cake, write a brief summary of what you did, how you did it, and where the cake is going, and then add this as a new article to your blog.
Every article that you write is ‘crawled’ by search engines such as Google, so when you write your articles it is always a good idea to write about what you have done, how you did it, and where you were. This gives you an opportunity to create content that is relevant to search engines, for example, if we use the cake business as an example, we would have discussed what we did, how we did it, and where the cake was going. Then when a search engine user enters a search such as ‘wedding cake makers in Torquay’, your article has met with the words of the search term.
